I.Introduction

Portable HVDC generator is an important equipment for DC voltage withstand test and leakage current test of HV electrical equipments, cables, surge arresters in electriv industry and power supply departments. ZGF Portable HVDC Generator is developed based on the calibration made by National HV Meterage Station, it accords with the standard "Generation Requirement of Portable HVDC Generator"(ZGF 24003-90)
The new technology, new material and optimal selected components are applied, It has the advantages of high power, small volume, light weight, good performance and high stability.

II.Features

VI.Operation steps
1. Preparation
Connect the signal input cable socket (13) and measurement output socket (14) of the controller with the cable socket of the voltage doubling device with a special cable. Check its integrity before use. The connecting cable shall be free of short circuit and open circuit; The double pressure cylinder shall be free of condensation; Connect the grounding terminal of the control box with the grounding terminal of the voltage doubling device with copper wire of more than 2.5mm2 and reliably grounded.

2. Installation instructions of water resistanor
1)Before each test, unscrew the end of the water resistanor with air hole, add water to more than 2/3 of the submerged conductive rod, and the end with air hole faces upward.
2) After the test, pour out the water and refill it before the next test.
Note: Dry type current limiting resistor does not need to be filled with water.

3.Voltage setting
(1) Plug in the power line and turn on the power switch (2) of the controller. The voltage display (8), current display (7) and 0.75 times voltage display (11) all show "0" value.
(2) Turn the voltage setting button (17) clockwise to the end, turn the voltage coarse adjustment (18) and voltage fine adjustment (19) counterclockwise to "0" position, and the "0"position indicator (4) is on.
(3) Gently press the "Start" button (15), and the "Power" indicator (3) (red) is on. If the "Start" button (15) is pressed, the red indicator light is not on, indicating that the voltage coarse and fine adjustment is not in the zero position, turn the voltage coarse adjustment knob (18) and fine adjustment knob (19) counterclockwise to the zero position, and the red indicator light (3) will be on.
(4) Turn the voltage coarse adjustment knob (18) clockwise. When the voltage is close to the required voltage value, turn the voltage fine adjustment knob (19) until the required voltage. At this time, the unit of voltage display value is kV and the unit of current display value is mA.
(5) Adjust the voltage setting knob (17) counterclockwise to turn off high voltage. At this time, the red indicator (3) is off and the "overvoltage" indicator (5) is on.
It indicates that the instrument is setted according to the required output voltage, that is, when the output reaches the required voltage value, the high voltage is automatically cut off and overvoltage protection is provided.
Note: If the setting knob is not adjusted, the voltage value can only rise to the setting voltage value each time. If the voltage needs to rise to the rated value, the overvoltage setting knob must be adjusted clockwise to the maximum.

4. Test object
(1) Connect the test object between the high-voltage output terminal and the ground terminal.
(2) Turn on the power switch (2), gently press the "Start" button (15), the "Power" indicator (3) (red) is on, and slowly adjust the voltage coarse adjustment knob (18) and voltage fine adjustment knob (19) for test. During the test, the voltage display (8) indicates the test voltage value, in kV; 0.75 times of voltage display (11) indicates 75% of the test voltage kV; Current display (7) indicates the test current mA.
(3) During the test of the test object, press the 0.75 times voltage display locking button (20), then the 0.75 times voltage display (11) display value is locked, and it is inconvenient to maintain the display value. In this way, it can be conveniently used as the reference voltage in the zinc oxide arrester test.
(4) Press the timing on button (10) at any time to start the time relay (9). When the timing reaches the preset time, the buzzer will give an alarm.
(5) During the test, if the load current exceeds 0-10% of the rated output current of the instrument, the "over-current" indicator (6) is on to protect the over-current and prevent damage to the test object and instrument.
(6) After the test, adjust the voltage coarse adjustment knob (18) and voltage fine adjustment knob (19) counterclockwise. After turning to the zero position, the voltage display meter (8) slowly returns to the zero position, and the "zero position" indicator (4) is on. When the three display meters display zero value, gently press the stop button (16). At this time, the red indicator (3) is off, and then turn off the power switch (2).
When the capacitance of the tested object is very large, after the voltage  
coarse and fine adjustments are adjusted to zero, the output voltage display meter cannot return to zero for a long time, press the stop button (16) first, and then shut down. Then discharge the test object with discharge rod, and then remove the wiring of the test object.

VII.Trouble shooting
